Friends of the Library groups are non-profit 501(c)3 organizations that perform fundraising activities in support of the library or library system they are affiliated with. The Bolivar County Library System (BCLS) is proud to have such a group – the Friends of the Bolivar County Library System, which is a member of the Friends of Mississippi Libraries.

Our “Friends” support all activities of the various branches of the BCLS by sponsoring various fundraisers, including quarterly book sales, an on-going book sale at the Robinson-Carpenter Memorial Library in Cleveland, and the bi-annual Grape Expectations Benefit Gala that is held the last Friday of each January. These fundraising efforts benefit Summer Library Program activities, the Luncheon With Books Program, and other special programs and projects within the BCLS, as well as assisting the BCLS in local support for various grant opportunities.

Anyone may join the Friends by completing an application that may be obtained at their local library branch or by visiting our Friends of the Library webpage. If you have any questions about the Friends, please contact the BCLS at (662) 843-2774  x109.
