Friends of the Library groups are non-profit 501(c)3 organizations that support the library or library system they are affiliated with. The Bolivar County Library System (BCLS) is proud to have such a group – the Friends of the Bolivar County Library System, which is a member of the Friends of Mississippi Libraries.
The purpose of the Friends of the Bolivar County Library System is to provide funds and volunteers to support the library in its mission to serve people of all ages and diverse backgrounds. The Friends sponsor a monthly book sale on the first Friday of each month (unless it falls on a holiday, then an alternate date will be announced), an on-going book sale, a bi-annual Grape Expectations Benefit Gala the last Friday in January, Summer Library Program activities, Lunch With Books program as well as other special programs within the BCLS.

Bolivar County Endowment Foundation
The Bolivar County Endowment Foundation was begun in 1984 for the purpose of: enhancing the BCLS by providing enrichment to its program of service; developing and carrying out programs to aid the betterment of the BCLS; and serving as a medium through which members of the public can contribute funds and property for use in aid of these purposes. Over the years, this fund has enabled the BCLS to accomplish tasks that would not have been possible otherwise.
