The Bolivar County Library System (BCLS) is pleased to offer an annual Summer Library Program (SLP) children and teens. Research proves that summer reading programs encourage the lifelong habit of reading, help children maintain their reading skills over the long summer, and generate interest in libraries and books. With these benefits in mind, Bobbie Matheney, Youth Services Coordinator at Robinson-Carpenter Memorial Library in Cleveland, plans and coordinates with all branch librarians each spring for the BCLS’ SLP. Registration dates for the SLP is set by Ms. Matheney for Robinson-Carpenter and by each individual librarian in the branches, but is usually held the latter part of May or first week of June. The program generally offers programs from four to six weeks each summer. Contact Mrs. Matheney or the librarian at the local branch at which you would like your child to attend for more information:
